The Catalan nation is, and it has been since long time ago, another aspiration in between the imperialist and expansionist anguishes of Spain and France. The Catalan question has been an excuse for all the unpleasantness and many of the military and political uprisings in the Iberian Peninsula, during the last three centuries.
