Dashcon 2014 in a Nutshell

Dashcon 2014 Breakdown: <br /> <br />Tumblr does a con. It's going as well as anyone could hope. <br /> <br />Friday: <br />- Con organisers ask for $17000 dollars in an hour otherwise the con will be shut down because "upper management doesn't like the people at the con" <br />- turns out Dashcon didn't read the contract properly and it said payment due on day one <br />- Saying they'll refund donations once money's in from walk-ins <br /> <br />Saturday: <br />- Main draws of the convention, Welcome to Night Vale, walk after not being paid <br />- Anyone who forked out for extra-cost reserved seating for the event gets an extra hour with the ball pit <br />- an extra hour in a tiny, timed-entry, homestuck-paint-filled kiddie pool with some plastic balls in a giant empty room <br />- neat <br />- there's a bouncy house too <br />- Time Crash (who they?) concert and BDSM 101 panels later <br />- THE BALLPIT deflates <br />- Sexual assault? <br />- Webcomic artist flees. <br />- No one on tumblr knows what dashcon is. <br /> <br />Sunday: <br />- We are waiting for someone to die or be eaten. <br />- Cops show up <br />- Nobody's there though <br />- Guests left with their own hotel bills despite being told con would pay. Baker Street Babes threaten Lawyers and get it sorted. <br />- Dashcon Staff say 2015 will be better than before <br />- yfw Dashcon will be in Indy next year
