LinkedIn: Setting The Scene
The opening shot of any scene or sequence is important as it provides the audience with information about where what we are about to see takes place.<br /><br />It doesn’t matter if the scene takes place in a boardroom, a busy street or some far off exotic land.<br /><br />Establishing shots shouldn’t be ignored, nor underrated, unless you want to confuse your audience or hide the location of the action intentionally. <br /><br />They provide context for all the future actions of your characters and they navigate your audience from scene to scene while drawing them into the story as it unfolds.<br />
