Working on a feel in the hackamore with this green 3 year old. She rides better in this than a snaffle and I've been getting better results accordingly. This is about her 7th ride in the hack. A good rule of thumb: If you are having trouble with something or you think you need to change to a 'bigger' bit or more aggressive spur, try going a step milder first. You may be yelling when all you need to do is whisper.
