In this cake decorating tutorial I show you how to make a doll cake of the Disney princess Sofia the first. \r<br>In this tutorial I show you how to make the Sofia the First doll to stick in the cake using a cake dowel and modelling paste / fondant, as well as the cake itself. If you are not confident in creating the doll itself, you can just place a Disney princess barbie doll of Sofia in the cake instead :)\r<br>A Sofia the First doll cake makes the perfect birthday cake for your little girls birthday party! \r<br>\r<br>You can check out more of my DIsney princess doll cake tutorials here - \r<br>\r<br>Tools and products used in this video -\r<br>Dome cake tin - \r<br>Fondant icing - \r<br>Cake smoother - \r<br>Cake dowel - \r<br>Edible cake pen - \r<br>Skin tone sugarflair - \r<br>(Purple dress colouring is a mix of grape and lavender)\r<br>Grape sugarflair - \r<br>Lavender sugarflair - \r<br>Modelling paste - \r<br>Cake modelling tool - \r<br>Rainbow dust pink - \r<br>Circle plunger cutters - \r<br>Chestnut sugarflair - \r<br>Dark brown sugarflair - \r<br>Sky blue sugarflair - \r<br>Purple rainbow dusts - \r<br>Renshaws royal icing - \r<br>Cookie cutters - \r<br>Tear shape cutters - \r<br>Silver edible paint - \r<br>\r<br>Basic Victoria sponge cake recipe - \r<br>Ingredients: \r<br>225g butter\r<br>225g caster sugar\r<br>4 eggs\r<br>225g self-raising flour \r<br>1 tsp vanilla essence\r<br>\r<br>Method:\r<br>Cream together the butter and sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla essence. Once smooth and creamy, fold in the flour.\r<br>Pour in to a greased cake tin and bake in the oven at 180degrees for approximately 40 minutes, until golden brown and a knife comes out clean.\r<br>\r<br>Buttercream recipe - \r<br>600g icing sugar, sifted\r<br>300g unsalted or salted butter, softened\r<br>optional flavouring\r<br>Beat the ingredients together.\r<br>\r<br>Chocolate ganache recipe - \r<br>- To make chocolate ganache you can simply melt chocolate with double cream in a glass bowl above a pan of boiling water ( I use the hob to heat the water, but be sure to turn this right down once the chocolate begins to melt so it doesnt burn).
