The Bread Thief

A young boy was caught stealing a piece of bread in the bustling market, and in fear of punishment,<br />he ran through narrow alleys, ashamed and trembling.<br />Jesus noticed him fleeing and quietly followed, calling softly, “Child, where are you?<br />” The boy hid in the shadows, tears streaming down his face, heart pounding with guilt and fear.<br />Jesus knelt down and spoke gently, “I want to help you.<br />Do not be afraid.<br />” Hesitant but sensing kindness, the boy slowly followed Jesus to his small home,<br />where his mother lay weak and the food basket was empty.<br />Jesus asked softly, “Why did you take the bread?<br />” Choked with emotion, the boy replied, “My mother is sick, and we have no food.<br />I only wanted to bring her something to eat.”<br />Jesus smiled with understanding.<br />“Child, I know your heart is full of love, but taking what is not yours will not solve the problem.<br />Courage and kindness can change your life far more than anything stolen in fear.<br />” Together, Jesus and the boy thought of ways to help honestly.<br />They gathered surplus food from neighbors and brought it to his mother.<br />The boy felt a warmth in his heart he had never known and understood that honesty, courage,<br />and kindness bring true hope and light.<br />He held Jesus’ hand, filled with newfound strength, and from that day on, cared for his mother with love and integrity,<br />sharing the lessons of goodness he had learned.<br />As Jesus departed, the boy stood at the doorway, watching him walk away, his heart strengthened,<br />knowing that true power comes from love, courage, and kindness—not from fear or theft.
