Wagon wheel effect demonstration
When you record video at 60 fps and you have something spinning 60 times a second, it looks like the object is totally static and unmoving, albeit blurred. This is the wagon wheel effect and it's one of my favorite effects. I demonstrate it using fans which have different spin rates. The foreground fan is one from my computer that I had to replace because it was making loud vibrations. The background fan is a normal desktop fan. <br /> <br />I first demonstrate this in true speed. I then repeat it in slow motion, at half speed. At the end, my voice played at half true speed - how weird can you get!
