The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority is unveiling its new 5-year SME Development plan for sustainable economic development of Pakistan on Friday. CEO SMEDA Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera has presented the plan at a news conference. According to SMEDA sources, the plan envisages 10 million new jobs, jack-up SME sector's GDP by $120 billion and quantum jump of $48 billion to exports.

The new five-year plan also envisages protection of interests of SMEs through professional monitoring, evaluation and by identifying research parameters. They said that under the 5-year plan, SMEDA would be turned into a true Facilitation Centre for small and medium businesses to act as resource base for providing expertise, information and statistics. — at PC Hotel, Lahore.
