Police in Tallahassee, Florida responded to a bizarre call concerning a stray llama. The long-necked animal even spat at one of the deputies during an altercation.
It’s relatively common to see a loose cat or dog roaming the streets.
But at 11 P.M. on a recent Friday night, law enforcement workers in Tallahassee, Florida received a bizarre call concerning a seemingly stray llama.
Deputies searched during the night, however they could not locate the creature. Fast forward to Saturday morning and several more calls came in from concerned residents. The animal was spotted yet again, walking along the roadside.
Cops arrived on the scene and tried to subdue the llama, but it wasn’t an easy task. Eventually officers were forced to use a Taser on it.
According to reports, the long-necked animal spat at one of the deputies. After it was loaded onto a trailer, authorities were able to locate the owner and bring the runaway llama safely back home.
Llamas are South American relatives of the came. They are considered pack animals and are known to be stubborn.
The creatures graze on grass and regurgitate their food to chew it as cud.
