A woman in Seattle recently took justice into her own hands. Last month, Eliza Webb opened up her car to find that some of her belongings had been tossed around.

She noticed an unknown cell phone on the seat. Webb suspected a teenager was behind the car break in.

She immediately went through the suspect’s phone and called the contact listed as mom. Webb stated “I felt that if I could get him to own up to what he’d done and understand there were consequences, it could be a much better outcome.”

The prowler’s mother welcomed Webb into the family home to speak with her son. The 19-year-old male was crying when she arrived and admitted he had been drinking when rifling through the car.

He also confessed that he and a friend had prowled another dozen or so cars. Webb prompted the teenager along with his 18-year-old companion to go around the neighborhood and give back the stolen goods.

The young men agreed. Most of the victim’s thanked the teens for doing the right thing.
