STORY: A three-story building in Nigeria's most populous city Lagos collapsed on Thursday killing at least seven people and injuring several more, officials have said.
The incident which took place around 2 a.m. shocked sleeping residents in the Ebute Metta neighborhood area who rushed to the scene before the emergency agencies arrived.
Hours after the building collapse, emergency workers continued to search through the debris.
Bukola Sanni, resident in Lagos says the entire area was thrown into confusion after the building collapsed.
"The building collapsed so I rushed over there, getting here, I mean it was a very big chaos, everything went off, a lot of you know people, children, deaths, I mean it's kind of unbearable," Bukola said.
Seven people have so far been rescued and are being treated at the hospital with intense rescue operations on-going.
