Santoshi Mata Aarti is sung in praise of Goddess Santoshi. Venerated as "the Mother of Satisfaction", a vrata (ritual fast), called the Santoshi Mata Vrata, performed by women on 16 consecutive Fridays is believed to win this Goddess' blessing. Maa Santoshi is an emblem of love, contentment, forgiveness, happiness and hope. She is also considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga and is widely worshiped throughout India and even by Indians residing outside India.
Aarti is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities. Aartis also refer to the songs sung in praise of the deity, when lamps are being offered.
