Demonstrators in New York took to the streets Sunday to express their outrage over the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
More than 1000 people gathered in Times Square holding signs and chanting slogans.
The rally started earlier in the day but carried on late into Sunday night with police failing to control the crowds.
George Zimmerman, a white Hispanic police officer in Florida, was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, and unarmed black teenager in a case that polarized the U.S. and drew attention to racial profiling and gun control.
