Recently a Manhattan courtroom was evacuated after witnesses saw bedbugs crawling up a man’s neck. The unidentified male arrived in court to respond to a desk-appearance ticket.
What should have a straight forwarded, standard event turned into chaos after an eagle-eyed women noticed the bloodsucking bugs crawling on him. The lady immediately let others in the courtroom know that bedbugs were on the male.
Some people abruptly rose from the seats and left. Comically, the bedbug covered man was one of those who decided to up and run.
Although no direct evidence of bedbugs were found, court authorities decided to call an exterminator to the scene just to be safe. The arraignment room was evacuated and when it reopened, the section where the man had been seated was roped off.
A witness present during the incident noted “People were scratching themselves. Everyone in the courtroom was uncomfortable. I'm still scratching myself. Just telling the story I get itchy.”
