A woman miraculously survived a horrific wreck after her car plummeted off Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland. 22-year-old Morgan Jade Lake had been driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring when her car was sent over the side of the bridge and fell 40 feet down into the water.
The crash occurred on a recent Friday night. A tractor trailer truck reportedly smashed Lake’s vehicle from behind while traveling at a high speed. The Chrysler struck the side concrete wall and bounced back on the roadway, however the massive truck hit the car a second time, smashing it three feet in the air, up and over the Jersey barrier.
After the car descended into the water and the water began filling the interior, Lake somehow managed to wrangle free from the confines of the vehicle and swim to safety. The 22-year-old woman was rescued and transported to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The truck driver escaped the accident without injuries. Fortunately, Lake only suffered from bruises and has since been released from the hospital.
