We love our pets; however, the four-legged creatures aren’t always welcomed in public establishments.

A woman in England recently received a fine after walking through the doors of a McDonald’s restaurant with her horse.

According to reports, the lady had initially tried to get food by using the drive-though, however employees refused to serve her, citing it was against company policy. CCTV footage captured the unnamed woman, along with her daughter and horse waltzing into the business.

Adding to the awkwardness of the situation, patrons watched as the horse defecated on the floor of the restaurant. The Greater Manchester Police’s Whitefield Division released a statement concerning the incident which noted “The sight and smell of this caused obvious distress and upset to customers trying to eat, as well as staff members. Officers arrived at the location and woman was issued a Fixed Penalty notice for causing alarm & distress to other customers and staff.”

An authority at the restaurant claimed the policy is in place to preserve the health and safety of fellow customers. Bicycle and horse riders along with pedestrians are prohibited from using the drive through.
