A man reportedly tried to sneak his pet turtle through the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport by concealing it in a KFC hamburger.

Some people would do just about anything to be with their pets.

In a recent, comical incident, a man reportedly tried to sneak his pet turtle through the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport by concealing it in a KFC hamburger.

On July 29th, the male was trying to hop onboard China Southern Airlines flight 345 which was headed to Beijing. When he walked through security, x-ray scanning equipment picked up something bizarre poking out of a burger that the man had packed in his luggage.

When workers made their suspicions known and said it looked like reptile limbs were sticking out from the burger, the male noted “There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger. There’s nothing special to see inside.”

Eventually the male consented to a search of his belongings and sure enough a turtle was found in the fast food burger. The male excused his actions by claiming he couldn’t bear to be separated from his pet turtle.

After the man was informed he could not take the reptile on the plane, he reluctantly arranged for a friend to take care of the creature while he traveled.
