Despite the Supreme Court clearing his appointment as the Lokayukta of Gujarat, Justice (Retd) R A Mehta in a letter to Gujarat governor Kamala Beniwal has said he will not take charge.The Narendra Modi-led Gujarat government had fiercely fought the governor's decision to appoint Mehta as Lokayukta but was eventually overruled by the Supreme Court.
