The much-awaited movie of the year, Chennai Express, has created a history in the world of Hindi cinema by crossing the mark of Rs. 100 crore at the domestic box-office in just four days.
The previous record was held by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012) for crossing the coveted mark and joining the elite club within five days in India. Meanwhile, earlier it was being reported that the movie had broke the record of highest paid previews by making more than Rs. 6 crore in just one day.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Chennai Express has grossed above Rs. 100 crore in just four days of its release. On Thursday paid previews, the movie collected 6.75 crores, on Friday it was 33.12 crore, on Saturday 28.05 crore, and lastly on Sunday it was 32.50 crore. Total collection of the movie was approximately 100.42 crore nett.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead, the movie is directed by Golmaal fame Rohit Shetty.
