Some people take beer-drinking far too seriously.

A man in his early 30’s, Gumaro Torres, was recently arrested after being accused of fatally shooting one of his friends.

According to police, on August 16th, Torres had been spending time with friends at a private home in Chicago. While sitting at a picnic table, Torres became angry about beer money and a verbal argument with his friends began.

A little while after the fight, Torres left the party and went to his home, where he allegedly picked up a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun. He reportedly returned to the gathering and shot one of the men at the party named Jose De LaFuente.

Prosecutors said “He stated that he was angry that when he returned the victims laughed at him”. Another male member of the group tried to stop the shooter, but Torres fired shots at that man.

Sadly, De LaFuente was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The other male who was shot is still listed in critical condition. Torres has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery.
