A set of twins in Germany recently passed away on the same day and in the same nursing home. Anna and Maria Bachmaier who were born on June 4th 1930 spent 83 years together.

Fate can be so bizarre. In an incredibly sad report that defies all odds, a set of twins in Germany recently passed away… on the same day and in the same nursing home.

Anna and Maria Bachmaier who were born on June 4th 1930 spent 83 years together. They went through life as not only siblings but also best friends.

Anna passed away first on August 10th at 5 in the morning. She died from a battle with liver cancer. Her twin sister was sleeping in a room right next to her.

According to the ladies' nephew, Maria cried out in her sleep when her sister was pronounced dead, even though she had no knowledge that her sibling had died. Only several hours after the death, Maria passed away.

The nephew stated “It is just unbelievable. They couldn’t survive without each other. My whole life I saw how they thought and felt like identical twins.”

Neither women married nor had any children. As younger ladies, they temporarily went separate ways and into different lines of work, but they reunited in the mid-1980s and shared a home together.
