Italian coastguard have rescued around 350 mostly Syrian refugees off the coast of Sicily.

As many as 200 people were crammed into a small and disabled fishing vessel.

Another boat contained 150 refugees in similar conditions.

Italian officials say they are seeing more and more Syrians arriving on Italian soil.
