Arle no Bouken: Mahou no Jewel takes the heroine of the Puyo Puyo series of falling-block (or blob, in this case) puzzle games... and removes her from those mechanics. Here, she's trekking all over the map, getting into random (and non-random) battles and utilizing monsters summoned from magic cards to defeat her enemies. It's a collect-and-trade RPG, with only the faintest hint of Puyo, but offers a diverse range of monsters and attacks to expand your tactics.
