GTA V real crimes: man steals truck and kidnaps woman

GTA V real crimes: Zachary Burgess, a lacrosse player from Auburn University, played GTA V in real life when he allegedly stole a truck, kidnapped the woman inside and attempted to flee, striking nine other vehicles in the process. The real GTA V crime took place in the Tigerland area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Burgess is from Hoover, Alabama.

The incident began at about 2:30am on Saturday, September 21. According to witnesses, Burgess emerged from a bar when he spotted a truck with the engine running. He then allegedly jumped into the driver's seat and attempted to speed away. Buy there were cars blocking his path and no possible clean escape.

Burgess then tried ramming his way out, according to police reports. The truck struck nine vehicles in total.

The 20-year-old college student then leapt out of the truck and attempted to flee the scene on foot. But eyewitnesses subdued him until the police arrived.

According to officers, Burgess allegedly said he wanted to see what it was really like to play Grand Theft Auto. Well, the Auburn University has his answer. He was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, nine counts of hit and run and simple kidnapping. He was released from jail after posting a bond of $80,000.

Grand Theft Auto V is the awesome video game from Rockstar Games. Since its release earlier this month, the title has generated more than $1 billion in sales. Kids, you should play GTA V at home ... not out in the real world.
