Mexico police launch manhunt for 'Diana: the hunter of bus drivers'

Mexican police are investigating the murder of two bus drivers, which was allegedly carried out by a woman seeking revenge for sexual abuse of female passengers.
A woman who identified herself as "Diana, the hunter of bus drivers" sent emails to media outlets claiming responsibilities to the killings with messages that read: "I myself and other women have suffered in silence but we can't stay quiet anymore," and We were victims of sexual violence by the drivers on the night shift on the routes to the maquilas," "I am the instrument of vengeance for several women."
The first murder took place on last Wednesday (August 28) morning when a blonde-haired woman boarded a bus, and then walked up to the driver, took out a gun and shot him in the head several times. It was reported that the same woman shot another driver in the same fashion on the following day.
According to Reuters, "eyewitnesses have reported the suspected killer is a woman in her fifties, dark-skinned and with dyed blonde hair or a blonde wig.
"Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, with a plan to put undercover police aboard buses and conduct weapon searches of passengers to find the suspect.
""We've taken various statements from witnesses of a description of the suspect. It's a woman, there are details in the investigation file and there are similarities between the crimes, the times, how the crimes were committed and the weapon used. As I said these are the characteristics of the suspect and we're working for her arrest," said District Attorney spokesperson, Juan Morales.
"Ciudad Juarez became famous in the 1990s for the unsolved murders of hundreds of women, many of them factory workers.
"Several bus drivers were arrested in connection with the killings that targeted women, but the majority of crimes still remain unsolved. Rights groups have accused Mexican authorities of not properly investigating and prosecuting crimes against women and widespread impunity."
