Witnesses back Spanish judge accused of ordering illegal wiretaps

Madrid, 18 Jan (EFE).- The trial continued on Wednesday for Spanish crusader judge Baltasar Garzón, who is charged with approving illegal wiretaps against suspects in a corruption ring linked to the ruling People´s Party in the Valencia region. The plaintiffs accuse the judge of taping conversations with the suspects´ lawyers, violating their constitutional rights. But witnesses today supported Garzón's version of the events.
