The diary of Polina Zherebtsova, a teenage girl living in wartime Grozny, was published two years ago in Russia. An account of the second Chechen war, it stirred controversy in the country and Zherebtsova ended up fleeing to Finland after receiving death threats. She was granted asylum by Helsinki and still lives there, where she endures the life-long effects on her health of years of malnutrition. She speaks to France 24’s Marc Perelman.
