A man dressed as a ghost broke into a liquor store in Saks, Alabama last Wednesday. The break-in took place around 5:30 a.m., according to the reports. It is not clear how the disguised suspect broke into the ABC liquor store on Highway 431, but security camera footage taken from the shop showed the 'ghost' moving through it with familiarity.
The 'ghost' floated through several of the store's spaces, stumbling briefly in a storage room filled with stacks of liquor cases, pausing to adjust his costume. The bed sheet phantom left the other spirits undisturbed, leaving the premise without taking a thing. (Obviously. Ghosts can't carry things!)
Police have yet to find any leads on who this otherworldly burglar might be, though they believe the suspect to be a male between 5 and 6 feet tall ('cause you know, that narrows it down). Camera footage also indicates that he might drive a white or beige Lincoln Towncar with custom wheel rims.
The City of Anniston's Police Department, who is in charge of investigating the crime, are keeping a sense of humor about the event, despite reminding the public that a crime was indeed committed, however prankish. On their Facebook page, they wrote, "We understand that it is nearing Halloween, but a ghost burglarizing a liquor store? Really? Apparently so.... Anyone with any information regarding this criminal from the spirit realm, please contact us. But send us an email or shoot us a call, contacting a medium to get to us won't work..."
