Pop star Lady Gaga has been named Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year.
Citing her commitment to equality, the publication said Gaga is helping to "make the world a more tolerant place."
In the article for Glamour, the native New Yorker said fame hasn't changed her: "I'm confident in who I am. I've come to a place in my life where I've accepted things that are me, as opposed to feeling pressure to explain myself to people around me."
The December issue will hit newsstands on November 5.
Lady Gaga will be honored at Glamour's annual award celebration in New York on November 11.
