Eagerly waiting for the release of his latest film Highway on 24 February, next year, writer-director Imtiaz Ali has lapped up the services of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for his next film Window Seat.

As a matter of fact, way back in June this year, it was reported that the director was dwindling with the idea of either casting Deepika or Alia Bhatt to play the female lead opposite Ranbir.

Observed Ali as to why he chose the title 'Window Seat', "Everything I'm doing or naming, I'm calling it window seat. My production house is called Window Seat Films and earlier this year I had written an article in The Times of India titled Window Seat in Kashmir with Ranbir Kapoor."

Imtiaz Ali is also to remake the 2009 South Korean film My Girlfriend Is An Agent, and 22 Tango starring Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.

The director has also called for the services of music director A R Rahman for Window Seat who has earlier given music in his films since Rockstar and Highway.
