A Boeing 737 airliner crashes in Kazan, Russia, killing all 44 passengers and six crew on board.
Russian authorities have confirmed that the son of the president of Tatarstan and the regional head of the FSB intelligence service were among those killed.
Russian television aired what appeared to be relatives of the victims rushing to the airport, some 800 kilometers east of Moscow.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN EMERGENCIES MINISTRY OFFICIAL, VIKTOR YUSENKO, SAYING:
"The work of rescuers, psychologists working with relatives of the dead and wounded has been organized. The telephone hotline is open. The working group of the government commission is continuing its work in order to ease the emergency situation (in Kazan) and prevent another fire."
Tatarstan Airlines flight U363 from Moscow had been trying to abort its landing in order to make a second approach when it crashed.
