A drunk Illinois man fell on his 81-year-old mother during an argument last week, breaking her hip in three places and pinning her on the floor until first responders arrived, police said.

Last Thursday, Robert Golba, 55, ignored a protection order prohibiting him from getting drunk or high in his Riverside house. He then got into an argument with his 81-year-old mother in the kitchen. During the fight, Golba passed out and fell to the floor, pinning his mother underneath him. She lay there for several hours before she was able to alert family members, who called police.

When police arrived, they found the mother and son's legs were intertwined and Golba was still passed out. According to police he was extremely combative when he finally regained consciousness and had to be restrained. His mother had emergency surgery to fix her broken hip at Loyola University Medical, and may have to undergo more operations.
