Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - How to get around renting with a balance at another apartment? - I moved to Atlanta when I was 18, signed a years lease, and 5 months into my stay, my grandfather died. I had to come home, and break my lease to help my mom. 2 years later, I still owe that complex almost 4000.00 It was co-signed in my grandmothers name, and she was expecting to get it off because she filed for bankruptcy. Its still in the process... Now, my husband is in the Marines, and we have to get an apartment ASAP. I was going out to California this Friday to find us a place. I spoke to a manager about this issue and he said, that they can work around bad credit, but if there is an eviction, or a balance somewhere else, he can't rent to me. Now, there's no way for me to pay that balance in full right now, with this move to pay for. But, if I were to set up a payment plan with the old apartments, and had them fax me the terms of my payment plan, would this make a difference when trying to rent elsewhere? If I had proof that I'm taking care of it? Or are their hands tied?
Is it even possible for a manager to pull strings and make it work, if he wanted to? -
