My previous pay was about $77/month. I was part of a rehabilitation program a year ago that finally ended and I was in good standing with the Department of Education. When I first got the letter from Sallie Mae, all looked good. I registered online via their website and saw my new loan information and all was the same. I called and confirmed and the guy said everything was the same but he couldn't see any information. I got a letter last week that the NEW terms of my loan are $430 a month. It's almost as though they're making an effort to send me into bankruptcy so I can't pay.

Is this legal? How can they increase it by so much?!? -
