A woman in Cornwall, United Kingdom got an unanticipated and unwelcome surprise after two cows fell through the roof of her home. Sue Marshall had been vacuuming when she heard a ridiculously loud crash.

She immediately went to investigate. She arrived in her workshop space and found herself staring at a cow that was standing right in the middle of the room. Marshall quickly grabbed the cow and tried to lure it out of her home.

As soon as she got the massive animal outdoors, a second cow fell through the roof. Both had fallen through a skylight.

Thankfully the two animals and Marshall were uninjured. However the same can’t be said for the house.

Marshall’s art supplies and equipment were badly damaged along with chairs, a table, the internal ceiling and glass paneling inside the home. It’s believed the cows broke through a fence and wandered onto the roof.

A spokesperson for Cornish Mutual – the insurance company handling the incident – stated “Livestock owners are potentially liable through common law and statute for accidents caused by animals straying, so land or animal owners should ensure that all fences are kept in reasonable order at all times.”
