Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - A lawyers office attempted to server me at my parents address, what should i do? - Last week my mother called and told me someone attempted to serve me at her address. I have a few delinquent credit card debts that have not been taken care of for about a year. My mother told them I do not live there, so they did not hand her the summons. I am unsure who the third party lawyer is that is trying to sue me so i have no idea how to contact them.

My co-worker was served a few months ago, which she was unaware as she was on vacation at the time she was served. She didnt find out until payroll contacted her about her wages being garnished. She contacted the lawyer and they explained her husband had signed the summons. Complete lie! Her husband and her have been legally seperated for years and he no longer lives in the state! She was not willing to try and fight it even though her husband would vouch for her that he didnt sign it. Anyway, i am concerned that my wages will be garnished for failure to apear just as they did to her. I do not know the court date, i know nothing!

What should my next corse of action be? Wait till they find my new address and hope they dont garnish my wages? If i called city hall would they be aware if the date was dropped? If i dont have a summons, i have no way to respond to it.

I am not looking to get bashed on for not taking care of my debts. I have come across fincial difficulty and paying to feed and keep a roof over my sons head is a bigger priority. I would love to get caught up but at this time, i am really unable to and have plans on filing bankruptcy ASAP! -
