STORY: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara met with Pope Francis at the Vatican on Monday.

Vatican watchers had hoped an official date for a visit by the Pope to Israel and Palestinian territories would be released following the meeting, but the dates for the visit expected in 2014 has still not been officially announced.

Netanyahu will hold a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta later in the day where the Iran nuclear talks are expected to be high on the agenda.
