A school in northern China has developed a Kung Fu exercise that they say can rid the body of airborne pollutants.

The pollution problem in China is bad, and as there are no quick fixes for it, people across the country have gotten pretty inventive when coming up with ways to cope with it.

Among the latest to devise an outside-the-box solution is a primary school in the northern part of the country.

They’re teaching children kung fu, in the hopes it will help cleanse their bodies of the pollutants and their associated ill effects such as asthma and lung cancer.

23 moves have been developed and two of them involve acupressure and breathing techniques.

On particularly bad days, students do the exercise up to four times, each of which has a duration of about two minutes.

The plan has drawn a fair amount of criticism with many saying there’s no way it can work.

There are those, however, who feel that having the kids engage in some kind of physical activity is a smart move, whether it works against the smog or not.

Often times the pollution is too bad for them to go outside for their usual exercise and recess time.
