A car bomb has exploded in Lebanon near the Syrian border.
The blast, in an otherwise deserted and muddy open field near a Hezbollah base, appears to be targeting the group, which is helping Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces seize opposition-held areas in Syria.
Lebanese army investigators picked through the debris of what appeared to have been a convoy travelling through the field.
At least four badly damaged vehicles, including the wreckage of an overturned jeep, were littered across the field.
A Lebanese security official said he could not confirm that it was a suicide attack.
