Michaella McCollum from Northern Ireland and Melissa Reid from Scotland -- known in the media as the Peru two -- arrive in court for sentencing.

The two twenty-year-olds were arrested at an airport here in Peru in August after 11 kilos of cocaine was found hidden in their luggage.

Both women admitted trying to smuggle the cocaine worth around 2.3 million dollars.

Lawyers said they had been jailed for nearly seven years each, but the sentences were reduced because of their guilty pleas.

"The superior court will release a communiqué on this. (REPORTER ASKS WHAT THE JUDGE SAID) Six years and eight months. Six years and eight months. Excuse me... They have not appealed... Please, I need to go. Can you let go of the door? Let go, please I need to go."

The women told the Peruvian authorities they were working in the party island of Ibiza and did not meet before they were both kidnapped at gunpoint.
