An 11-year-old girl in Utah found herself in a sticky situation after getting stuck in a washing machine while playing hide-and-seek.
It may be due to the intriguing noise, flashing lights or just the sight of clothes swirling around in water, but one thing is sure – washing machines are the object of many children’s curiosity.
An 11-year-old girl in South Jordan, Utah found herself in a sticky situation after getting stuck in a washing machine while playing hide-and-seek. The child’s mother wasn’t home at the time, but her older sister and cousins were.
Once they heard the girl’s cries and found her hiding spot, the kids used everything they could think of to get her out, including peanut butter, regular butter and ice, but all the efforts proved to be futile. After pouring warm water on the girl to fend off the chill from the ice, they called Mom who immediately contacted 911 for professional help.
Firefighters arrived at the home and eventually removed the dryer portion of the stackable appliance and cut into the corner of the washer.
The child was able to crawl out at that point. She encountered some minor bruising from the incident, but is more embarrassed than anything else.
