A big congratulations goes out to the frogs living in a Malaysian swamp whose voices recently won them a ‘most beautiful sound in the world’ title.
The contest was created by sound expert Julian Treasure and submissions were taken, beginning in October, through the Beautiful Now website.

Stiff competition came in the way of purring cats, giggling babies, and the sounds of the surf.

The winner is titled ‘Dusk by the Frog Pond’ and the sounds were captured in the Kubah National Park, which is located in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Take a listen:

Treasure said of the 2-minute clip, "It was a sound of a swamp with a frogs singing. The most amazing, rich recording of just life — teeming life."

The frogs are the stars, but they didn’t do all the work.

In the background are the contributions of the other insects and animals that call the swamp home – or at least visit every so often.

All 12 finalists can be heard on the site beautifulnow.com.
