Phil discusses the possibilities of iOptic Lens ( Orbit Lens ) and the future of HDTV with the newly unveiled "UHDTV" by samsung.
welcome to Global Gadgets, I’m your host Phil Mitrovic. On this special episode I’m going to introduce you to an Augmented Reality contact lens and what might just be the future standard of television. These are just a couple of the latest gadgets that you need to look out for in 2014.
First up we have the iOptic contact lens manufactured by the company known as Innovega. And before I go any further, just to give you a little insight to what Augmented Reality is… It’s a technology that superimposes computer generated images on the user’s view of the real world.
Putting the lenses on gives the wearer the ability to focus on both close-up and far away objects at the same time. The close up function is exceptional because its lets you focus on things that your eyes would be physically incapable of doing.

By now the majority of TVs are HD but that will soon change. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Samsung and LG will be revealing the future of television with their Ultra High Definition TVs! These UHD screens look similar to the OLED Smart Phones that we’ve talked about before however the Samsung and LG TVs do not use OLED Technology. They are strictly LCDs which should help make them a little more affordable.
