I test the mic on this camera at 2ft, 5ft, 10ft, 15ft, and 20ft. The mic on this camera is definitely one of it's weaknesses but it's still not the worst I have ever seen. I use an offscreen mic a lot and sync it with the video so it all works out fairly well.
