A poor harvest and harsh weather conditions means maize is being rationed in Malawi.

But many also blame corruption, especially with the so called ''Cashgate'' trial now underway.

Public figures are accused of stealing millions of dollars of state funds.

Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports from Lilongwe.
