DIRECTV celebrated Super Bowl weekend at Hudson River Park Pier 40 in New York City with their Eighth Annual DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl and the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night event featuring Jay Z and surprise guest Beyonce.

Saturday morning kicked off with the DIRECTV Eighth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl featuring celebrities, NFL greats and thousands of spectators converged on more than one million pounds of sand for an exciting flag football game followed by a performance by Paramore at the DTV SuperFan Stadium at Hudson River Park Pier 40.

This year, the Blue Team was coached by NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana and represented NYPD’s ‘Finest’ and the White Team coached by NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders represented NYFD’s ‘Bravest’. The Blue Team beat the White Team a come-from-behind victory (35-28) with Michael B. Jordan and John Legend named co-MVPs for their defensive and offensive skills respectfully. In a show of respect for good sportsmanship and hard work on and off the field, the NYPD and NYFD were honored with a check for $20,000 each.

After the Blue Team defeated the White team at the 8th Annual DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, the DTV SuperFan stadium at Hudson River Park Pier 40 was transformed into a NY nightclub to host one of the hottest parties of the weekend, at DIRECTV Super Saturday Night Featuring JAY Z Co-Hosted by Mark Cuban’s AXS TV and Eli Manning. Celebrities, athletes and VIPs attended to watch the New York native perform his latest and classic hits from “Tom Ford” to “Public Service Announcement” in addition to “Empire State of Mind.” The packed tent all hailed the Queen when Beyonce entered the stage to for a surprise performance of “Drunk in Love” with JAY Z in a sparkly long black dress. Before the show, world-renowned DJ Tiesto entertained the party-goers.
