DVF celebrates iconic wrap dress

STORY: Veteran fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg dedicated her fall 2014 collection to her famous wrap dress on Sunday (February 9) presented at an off-site venue of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) in New York.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the dress that con Furstenberg created when she was 26-years-old, and the collection was presented weeks after a retrospective exhibition that chronicles the changes of the dress from when it was first created in 1974 until now.

Her fall 2014 collection has a retrospective theme as well, and is fittingly titled "Bohemian Wrapsody."

Von Furstenberg explains: "Because the dress was inspired originally by the little wrap sweaters that the ballerinas wore, and so I, this inspiration of today is all about Ballet Russes, about this ballerina who comes to, who leaves the Russian revolution and she goes to Berlin and to Paris and mix and match because she is wearing everything sh
