Kiev mourns as parliament delays formation of new government

After months of protests and last's week deadly violence, the president was ousted and indicted for mass murder.

One mourner says the protesters died fighting to protect their own people.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN PROFESSOR OF MUSIC WHO HAS LIVED IN UKRAINE FOR FIVE YEARS, NATALIA KOPTENKOVA SAYING:

"In fact, thanks to the nationalists' movement that stood to defend the people and that was not afraid of bullets or gunfire, we don't have this horrible future anymore. I am now optimistic about the future."

That future may take time.

Parliament on Tuesday delayed the formation of the new government until Thursday to allow more time for debate.

One official says there's much work to be done.
