The film industry's biggest night is almost here and crews started rolling out the fabled Oscars red carpet for the glittering event.

It takes about 1,500 hours to lay the 25,000 square feet of rug.

And by the time this year's presenter, Ellen DeGeneres takes to the stage on Sunday - this carpet will have seen a lot of traffic.
