How to sing rock - the second part of singing in the style of Rob Halford. The chosen track is 'A Touch of Evil' from the 'Painkiller' album. The video includes me singing the chorus, middle 8 and the very high line that extends up to G5. Both clean and distorted versions are given to help illustrate the correct use of vocal distortion.
Vocal distortion techniques that I demonstrate here are for advanced singers. This technique takes specific development and practice and when done correctly causes no vocal fatigue. It can be learned but you must be very careful when exploring this technique.
If you feel any irritation in the throat, any soreness, inflammation or hoarseness when you sing then please stop immediately and seek advice from a professional. Vocal damage can be caused very quickly and have permanent, damaging effects.
may be permanent.
